Thank You Bruins

Today, I heard a variety of Post Mortems following the Boston Bruins seasons. Among many of the post mortems was a series of people who were let down. As one of the members of local sports radio commented, we expect championships....anything less just isn't good enough.

Hearing so many people down on the Bruins - disappointed even - was crazy. Sure, its a bummer that the Bruins are out, but COME ON PEOPLE. At the beginning of the season there were people who said they'd be happy, nay THRILLED, if the Bruins just got out of the first round. It hadn't been done here in so long.

And, you know what. THEY DID IT. They got out of the first round. And, not whimpering mind you. They obliterated Montreal.

Think back to past history. In the late 80s, the Bruins were able to finally get past Montreal in the playoffs, and lost the next series. It propelled them onto a run that led to two Stanley Cups visits. We are just beginning one of those such runs. The team is being run the right way, coached the right way, and has the best young talent since a few guys named Orr and Esposito were lacing up skates. Their point total this year was not a fluke.

True, they have some decisions to make. But, the Bruins are beginning to resemble the current Red Sox. Running their ship the right way.

The Bruins Have Arrived. Just wait until next year,
