Okay, it is time to Layoff Laurence Marony
That'rs right. let's back off a bit.
Now we have confirmation. There is a reason his year was a bit off. For those of you who questioned Maroney's heart on that vital play to make a down last year, we know the answer. According to a report in THE BOSTON GLOBE, Maroney had a broken bone in his shoulder.
Maroney's razzle dazzle style of his first year has been inconsistent at best. And, just when it seemed like he was on the cusp of something special, last year's season dawned on him like a lead brick.
Now, if you are like me, you are wondering if this guy will show the glitz that accompanied him when he was drafted out of college. Well, we will see. But, when you consider what he does for a living, that shoulder is vital to his success. For now, I suggest let's give the guy one more chance. See how he does in the preseason and first four games. With all the backs the Patriot's have - with pressure off - this guy just might come through.
